Program: ACT Team (Assertive Community Treatment)

Responsibilities:  Provide confidential administrative and secretarial support for the ACT Program. Ensure that office functions are performed in a manner that facilitates program compliance with federal, state and agency mandated guidelines to a mental health team that delivers services to individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness throughout Rockland County. Specific duties include but are not limited to: meet and greet visitors; develop, maintain, and monitor clerical and office activities; handle a large volume of telephone calls and requests for information or assistance;  compile, prepare and complete weekly, monthly and annual reports; ensure timely and proper documentation of services,  records and other tracking mechanisms related to proper documentation; organize and maintain consumer files; prepare  census, enter program changes, maintain transportation records and mileage sheets; update software program, attendance sheets, and secure files as directed; provide accurate records and documentation to fiscal office to facilitate billing and mandated reports; and secure, inventory, audit and manage office supplies and other resources directly related to clerical functions as directed.

Requirements:   High School degree or equivalent plus 3 year’s nonprofit, medical or mental health secretarial experience.  Excellent verbal/written communication skills; ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines; and computer experience required.  .Must have valid driver’s license and willingness to use own car for business purposes.   Experience working with adults with severe mental illness preferred.  Experience working with a diverse population.  COVID-19 vaccination preferred.

 The Program Assistant works in MHA’s home office in Valley Cottage.
