Licensed Children’s Therapist, per-diem

Program: Children and Family Services
Per-diem, 5 – 10 hours per week

Responsibilities: Working independently will conduct assessments; create service and discharge plans; provide direct clinical services via telehealth, in the home, at the office and/or in the community as needed; provide goal-directed supports and solution-focused interventions to help children achieve goals; provide stabilization sessions after a crisis episode; provide referrals to and coordinate with other service providing agencies; document all direct and collateral services and interventions in a timely manner; maintain case records; participate in meetings as directed; and perform other related duties as assigned.  

Requirements: Master’s degree in mental health or related field, designated by the NYS Office of  Mental Health (licensed mental health practitioner) such as LCSW, LMFT, LCAT, LMHC, LMSW   or licensed psychoanalyst.   Experience working with children (mental health, educational or child-welfare settings) desirable. Two years post-graduate experience working with individuals recovering from serious mental illness.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Deep understanding of recovery process and principles of person-centered planning.  Comfort going into the community, meeting children and their families. Knowledge of community resources and mental health services.  Proficiency with Electronic Health Records preferred.  Experience working with a diverse population.  Valid driver’s license and ability to drive program vehicles.  COVID -19 vaccination preferred. Schedule includes Saturday or Sunday.
